Emman Atienza, the 19-year-old daughter of Filipino television personality Kim Atienza, was found dead in her apartment in Los Angeles.
Her family announced the tragic news on Instagram, expressing profound sorrow and asking that her legacy of kindness, courage and compassion be remembered.
Emman had built a strong presence online — on TikTok she had over 850,000 followers and nearly 50 million likes.
She openly shared her experiences with depression and anxiety, and in doing so helped many feel less alone.
According to the report, the cause of death was suicide by ligature hanging, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
Just days before her passing, Emman appeared cheerful in a TikTok video where she was seen rollerskating, rock-climbing and skateboarding — captioned: “Life lately… does this go hard?”
In a statement, her family said:
“It is with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman. She brought so much joy, laughter and love into our lives and into the lives of everyone who knew her. Emman had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she wasn’t afraid to share her journey with mental health. To honour her memory, we hope you carry forward the qualities she lived by: compassion, courage and a little extra kindness in your everyday life.”
The loss has shocked her community, her fans, and the internet. Many are now reflecting on the unseen struggles of young people, particularly those in the public eye.
